Description
Tower in Fort Rock. In this colorful vertical composition, a dramatic red lava edifice rises prominently into a deep blue cloud-studded sky, and over bright yellow blossoms growing in the harsh desert environment. The rock is interestingly angular, the play of light and shadows emphasizing its features. A towering rock formation within the caldera at Fort Rock, in Oregon. Fort Rock is an ancient volcanic caldera, located in Fort Rock State Park a little south of the lava fields that flowed from the Newberry Crater in the Newberry National Volcanic Monument, a bit south of Bend, Oregon.
