Description

Clackamas Meadow Pump House-2, Clackamas Lake.  In this horizontal shot of Clackamas Meadow on Mt. Hood, Oregon, a rustic wooden pump house stands in the foreground at frame left on the edge of the meadow, the brown of its wood contrasting against the green and gold of the marsh grass in the background.   The scene is framed by trees, and fallen trees in the marsh grass add foreground interest.  Waterways in the marsh grass lead the eye to the apparent horizon at the tree line, darker and in contrast to the golds of the marsh grass.  Blue sky and rose clouds add contrasting colors above the tree tops.  Clackamas Meadow is found near the the Joe Graham Horse Camp, near Clackamas Lake on Mount Hood, Oregon.  The pump house in the picture is no longer used, and has been partially burned out.  Clackamas Lake is feed by springs at one end, its outlet feeding the waterways of Clackamas Meadow.  Mount Hood is located approximately fifty miles to the east and south of Portland, Oregon, and is a dormant (but not extinct) volcano in the Cascade Range.  It is the highest peak in Oregon.  See also my several other shots of Clackamas Meadow, and many other shots of Mt. Hood and the lakes and forests around Mount Hood. Prints, greeting cards, and iPhone cases featuring this image can be purchased from me through FineArtAmerica.  Stock photo.
