How
to Play:
There are a variety of ways to play Animal I-Class:
Method #1: The standard way to play is to think of an animal (it is important that this is NOT an extinct animal), then start at the top of the taxonomy—Kingdom: Animals. You can jump straight to that point by clicking on Play Animal I-Class at the bottom of this page. From this point on, you answer questions about your animal, eventually working your way down to your animal's classification. If you don't know the answer to a question, just guess, and soon you'll figure out if you guessed right.
Method #2: Another way to play is to just explore where different responses to the questions take you—you might be surprised! Click on Play Animal I-Class at the bottom of this page, then use your web-browser's normal navigation buttons (forward and back), along with experimentally answering the various questions presented, to see where the various threads lead. This is a fun way to just explore and see what you find.
Method #3: Lastly, you can jump out of the taxonomy at any point you see a rotating globe, just by clicking on the globe. This will take you to an overall map of the taxonomy where you can see where you were in relation to the rest of the animal kingdom. From the map you can jump to any of the other classifications, so it is a useful way to get around. The map is extensive, so you'll have to scroll up and down to see the whole thing. This is also a useful way to start over with a new animal—just click on the globe, then click on Kingdom: Animals at the top of the map.
